Since October of 2008, David Look has been tweeting the film adaptation of Truman Capote’s novella, Breakfast At Tiffany’s, released in 1961 and starring Audrey Hepburn. Twitter offers users the opportunity to “follow” the Breakfast At Tiffany’s Twitter feed in a variety of ways which allows for a dissemination of the film’s dialogue outside of the traditional context of viewing a film. By subscribing to the feed with a mobile device, followers can open up the film’s dialogue to further recontextualization depending on a viewers own situation at that particular time and place in which a message from the script is received. The feed is also sharable across a variety of online platforms. To his knowledge, David Look knows of no other cinematic production like this.
